The Jackson Heights Islamic Center website and its native apps for iPhone, iPad, Mac, Android and Windows run on one platform. It can be set up for your center's location, prayer calculation, name and colours, and every app keeps working without a connection.
Pick a city, a calculation method and a colour. The phone below works out today's real prayer times for that place in your browser, using the same calculation the apps use when they are offline.
That is the whole difference between two centers: the site values drive the website, the admin console and every native app, and the theme sets the colours.
Each center gets its own copy: its own website, admin console, database and store listings. The times below are calculated live for each city.
Each app is written in the language its platform was designed for, so it opens fast, scrolls smoothly, follows the device's own design and works with its notifications, calendar and maps.
All the apps follow one written specification and are checked against the same prayer-time test data, so a time shown on Android is the time shown on iPhone, Mac, Windows and the website.
The committee updates the site once. Every app picks up the change by itself and keeps a full copy, so it opens instantly and keeps working underground, on a plane, or when the Wi-Fi is down.
Coordinates and time zone, 10 calculation methods, Hanafi or standard Asr, iqamah offset, Jumu'ah times. Every time can still be set by hand.
Name and wordmark, colours, logo and app icon, hero photos and wording. A new look comes from settings and one theme, not new code.
Events, causes and fundraising goals, announcements, team, programs, gallery, sermons and testimonials, all in the admin console.
Your own PayPal donate button on every page and in every app; fundraising progress bars update with the site.
Optional adhan reminders for each prayer, scheduled on the device itself, with the real adhan in the prayer details.
Your web address with HTTPS, and the apps listed on the App Store, Google Play and the Microsoft Store under your organisation's own name.
Location, calculation method, iqamah practice, Jumu'ah, your logo and colours, and what you'd like on the site.
We configure the platform, bring over the content from your current site, create your logo files and app icons, and load your events and causes.
Your committee gets test builds for iPhone and Android, and the Mac and Windows apps, plus a private preview of the website.
The website goes online on your domain with HTTPS, and the apps are submitted to the stores under your organisation's accounts.
Z&D built this platform and looks after it. Your committee runs the center; we keep the technology running.
Talk to the team/api/app/bundle with an ETag; unchanged content returns 304. Devices replace their data in a single transaction. The website runs on a small cloud server or in Docker; we can host it for you. The apps don't depend on it: they work offline and refresh from your website whenever they can reach it.
Yes. Adhan times can be calculated automatically every day, while iqamah follows a fixed offset or is entered by hand by the committee. Jumu'ah is always set by you.
Yes. Each location gets its own settings: coordinates, calculation method, name, colours and content. The apps are built from the same code, so a new location takes a set of settings, not a new project.
You do. The content is a single SQLite database that you can download at any time, and the apps are published under your organisation's developer accounts.
No. There are no adverts, analytics or trackers. The apps download data only from your own website and the AlAdhan prayer-time service; maps and video thumbnails come from the device's own maps app and YouTube.
Tell us where you are and how your community prays. We'll show you your own app.
